Goats at Steelman Farms
Savanna goats raised for hardiness, strong maternal traits, and practical ranch performance.
At Steelman Farms, our goat program focuses on producing hardy, productive animals that thrive in real ranch conditions. Our herd is primarily Savanna goats with some Boer, Spanish, and Kiko crosses, chosen for their durability, parasite resistance, and strong breeding traits.
We run registered Savanna bucks with mostly Savanna does, along with a small number of Boer, Spanish, and Kiko crosses. All our goats have been raised right here on the ranch with the exception of our bucks.
Our breeding goals focus on producing goats that:
-
Raise twins successfully
-
Require minimal feed supplementation
-
Show strong resistance to parasites
-
Perform well in working ranch environments
Savanna goats have proven to be among the most resilient breeds for the type of brush management and pasture conditions we manage on the ranch.

Pricing and Availability

At Steelman Farms, our goat herd plays an important role in maintaining the health of the ranch. Goats help control brush and weeds that cattle alone cannot manage, allowing grasses to grow and improving pasture conditions.
By carefully selecting breeding stock and managing the herd with practical ranch experience, we aim to produce goats that are both productive and well suited to real ranch environments.
This balanced approach allows our goats to contribute to both the success of the livestock program and the long-term stewardship of the land.
Why Our Goats

Our goats also play an important role in managing brush and weeds across the ranch, helping improve pasture conditions for both goats and cattle.
